Grant Thornton - Partner
“Grant Thornton are pleased to be able to play an active part in the Cairns Community Enterprise as we place a great deal of value in the Cairns community and have a significant desire and determination to see our community grow and develop for all those who choose to live here or visit. The Grant Thornton team in Cairns live and work in this community and wish to see it achieve all it can.
On a personal level I wish to see my children have as many opportunities as possible available to them to develop in whichever sporting arena they choose. That needs the provision of good quality facilities for them and all the young people of our community to be made available so they can all achieve reach their maximum potential.
I have been involved Cairns Community Enterprise as its treasurer since its inception in 2009 and nothing has given me greater pleasure in my role as treasurer than handing over cheques to worthy recipient organisations for them to put to good use in our community. I look forward to seeing how the Company grows in the future.”
CDRL - Secretary Operations Manager
FNQ Hospital Foundation - Board Member
I have resided in Cairns for most of my life and my association with sport started in Basketball and then Rugby League (37years). I am the current CDRL Secretary Operations Manager, Director on the CC-FNQ Vice President of Meals on Wheels Board member of the FNQ Hospital foundation (14 Years) Volunteer Of The Year in 2017 and Director on The Jones Park Board. All positions I hold in high esteem as I believe each organisation contributes greatly to this fine community I call home. Great joy is Meals on Wheels because we do such a wonderful service for the Elderly and house bound clients. The Cairns District Rugby League and FNQ Hospital Foundation I am very proud to say are also partners of Building Active Communities where they are financial beneficiaries of the income sharing arrangement in place. We know that through CC-FNQ we will be contributing to the long-term sustainability of these organisations.” I am a Life Member for Ivanhoes and, the only female life Member for the CDRL and Queensland Rugby League Northern Division.
